Biography

WHO WE ARE:

We're Meridith Alexander and her daughter Schuyler Arakawa—better known as "Team Schuyler," the dynamic mother-daughter duo who prove that life's most devastating moments can become your most powerful platform.

Schuyler, Ms. Wheelchair Florida 2025 and Yale graduate, survived the unsurvivable in 2016 when a boulder fell 30 feet onto her in Colombia. Doctors said she wouldn't make it. She defied those odds but emerged with a severe traumatic brain injury, no peripheral vision, speech challenges, and complete reliance on her mom for mobility and safety. Her middle name—Sachi, Japanese for "happiness"—became her mission.

Meridith, founder of GRIT Mindset Academy and Forbes Coaches Council contributor (40+ articles), transformed from peak-performance coach into her daughter's fiercest advocate overnight. Together, they've turned tragedy into triumph: co-authoring 13 children's books in the My Friend the Boulder series, building a global following through their Schuy Is the Limit community, and proving that teamwork isn't just nice—it's necessary.

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE:

We don't just talk about resilience—we live it in real time. Audiences witness genuine vulnerability when Schuyler delivers speeches with a speech disability. They see a mother who chose to become her daughter's partner rather than caretaker. This isn't polished—it's raw, real, and unforgettable.

WHO WE CONNECT WITH:

Corporate teams navigating change, healthcare professionals facing burnout, parents juggling impossible demands, educators building inclusive communities, and anyone who's wondered if they can survive what life just threw at them. We bridge able-bodied and disabled communities because our story lives in both worlds.

WHY PEOPLE INVITE US:

We deliver what most keynotes can't: proof that your worst day doesn't write your final chapter. Organizations book us when they need their people to believe in possibility again. We're featured on ABC, NBC, Fox, and Prevention Magazine because we're actionable. Audiences leave with Meridith's EPIC Framework and Schuyler's infectious joy—strategy plus heart.

OUR TALK:

A Whole New World takes audiences from the ICU where doctors said Schuyler wouldn't survive, to stages where she now delivers speeches, to behind the scenes of a partnership rewriting the rules. We reveal how wheelchairs became runways, kryptonite became superpower, and why what nearly broke us revealed our magic.
